Abstract

Globalization and the internationalization of higher education have contributed to the continuous growth of student academic mobility, which today represents one of the most significant forms of contemporary migration. Governments, universities, and various donor organizations actively encourage studying abroad through scholarship programs and international student exchanges. Parallel to these processes, the accelerated development of artificial intelligence (Al) and machine learning has led to a substantial increase in the number of study programs in these fields at universities worldwide. The growing demand for Al professionals has further stimulated students’ interest in international education and specialized study programs. The aim of this paper is to analyze the availability of scholarships intended for students who wish to attend Al study programs outside their country of residence. Special attention is given to the identification of study programs and donors. Through a review and analysis of existing scholarship schemes, we examine how these scholarships promote international academic mobility and shape the accessibility of AI education for students from different countries. Our findings clarify the link between the expansion of AI study programs and international student mobility. In addition to theoretical contributions, the paper provides practical guidance for education policymakers, universities, and other stakeholders in planning and improving support programs for students interested in AI education and training.
