Abstract

The growing impact of climate change in Serbia underscores the urgent need to identify candidate areas where afforestation may be considered as a key adaptation and mitigation measure. This study applies a combined geospatial–legal approach to examine whether agricultural land consolidation can enable afforestation on abandoned farmland, while recognising that final suitability depends on site-specific ecological, socio-economic, and legal conditions
