Abstract

National regulations are partially harmonised with the provisions of the WHO International Code of Marketing of Breast-milk Substitutes. The WHO Code contains provisions on the necessity and manner of labeling of breast-milk substitutes and related products, the ban of marketing of breast-milk substitutes, and the necessity to promote breast-feeding. The Ministry of Health has formed a Working group for drafting the bylaws on food for infants and young children, which is currently working on solutions for completely incorporating the Code into the national legislation.
